What is Counselling?

The aim of counselling is to provide a safe, supportive environment to help the client work through his/her problems, whilst providing the client more insight into their life , thus helping to live in a more resourceful and enlightened way. Counselling provides a real opportunity for change in ourselves. Although we cannot alter the past, we can improve our understanding of what has happened to us, gain greater insight into ourselves and have more control of our present and future.

What is Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is viewed as a longer-term process. You may be less clear about particular concerns. More often, there is a general sense of dissatisfaction and vague unexplained emotional experiences.

Counselling and Psychotherapy are purposeful activities where an important part of the healing process is the professional relationship between counsellor/therapist and the client. The therapeutic relationship is central to enabling personal awareness and change.
